The Seeds of Revolution
The Kings were once the dominant force on Plooma. They’d managed to more or less unite the fractious world through underworld conquest and had even managed to establish an almost reasonable standard of living for most people… as long as they didn’t get on the Kings’ bad side.
In the Clone Wars, the Kings ran supplies for the Separatists, hoping to curry favor and perhaps win recognition as a legitimate planetary government if the independence movement succeeded. Unfortunately for the Kings, the Separatists were crushed, and in the wake of the Clone War the Galactic Empire quickly reconquered the Outer Rim. Due to some well-placed bribes, the subjugation of Plooma was subcontracted to an alliance of small-time gangs who wanted a larger slice of the pie on the planet. Armed with top-of-the-line military-grade weapons, the Kingslayers (as they called themselves) quickly and effectively reduced the Kings to a shadow of their former glory.
What was left of the gang — now led by Ton Caldovar — retreated to the shadows. They now dabble in piracy, stealing medical supplies from the Kingslayers’ suppliers and smuggling them to those who need it on the politically-unstable planet. Biding their time, they wait for the opportune moment to strike and take down the Kingslayers.
